Our client is a businessman who came to Dubai to begin investing in the region. He rented an office for his company and purchased a villa. Additionally, he contracted a maintenance and decoration company to carry out the decor work for both his office and the villa.

Our client paid approximately 70% of the contract value to the contractor; however, the contractor delayed delivery by over three months and ceased work altogether, completing only 40% of the agreed-upon tasks.

Consequently, our client approached us to protect his interests and recover his rights. We initiated legal proceedings by sending a formal notice to the contractor, demanding the completion of the work as per the contract, or we would terminate the agreement. Unfortunately, the contractor ignored this notice.

As a result, we filed a lawsuit and requested the appointment of an expert to verify the work completed by the contractor, the amounts he received, and the damages incurred.

The court appointed an engineering expert, and upon the completion of the expert’s report, we issued a legal notice to the contractor to inform them of the termination of the contract. Subsequently, our client engaged another contractor.

We filed a compensation claim against the previous contractor, seeking reimbursement for the amounts exceeding the value of the work performed and compensation for the damages incurred by our client.

The court ruled in favor of our client on all claims, including compensation, and ordered the contractor to pay the legal fees and expenses. This judgment is now final, and our client has received all their rights.
